Once again I was back at AT&T Park for Tuesday night’s Giants game versus the Los Angeles Dodgers. This time my Dad was planning to attend. Also, Sean MacDonald (who runs the website sportsroadtrips.blogspot.com) was in town after arriving from Tokyo earlier today.
Parking at AT&T Park
This time I found a parking lot on Berry St. south of 5th St. that was only $20. It was definitely a long walk to AT&T Park, but worth saving $10 in my opinion. Plus, the parking lot was not that big so traffic getting …

Dodgers at World Series Champions Giants

For the first time since the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Francisco Giants moved to California, the Dodgers and Giants played a game with the Giants as World Series Champions.
My original plan for Monday night was to attend the Sacramento Kings game. The Kings are threatening to move after this season and I have not been to a Kings game since December 20, 1994. However, as the afternoon moved along, I decided I did not want to make the long two hour drive to Sacramento (which would be longer when …

StubHub Game Time Purchasing: Cardinals at Giants

It was a great day for a doubleheader. My Dad and I planned to attend both the San Francisco Giants game and Golden State Warriors game.
Parking
Parking was much easier today than it was on Friday. I have a friend who lives on Berry St. who let us park in his spot for free.
Beg, Borrow and Deal
In a turn of events, my friend told me that StubHub was now selling Giants tickets up until game time rather than cutting of sales two hours before the game as they do with Cubs …

Giants World Series Championship Ceremony

As I mentioned yesterday, I planned my flight to San Francisco in order to attend the San Francisco Giants home opener Friday afternoon. With my parents both working on Friday, the Ultimate Sports Baby was coming with me.
Driving vs. Public Transportation to AT&T Park
I decided to drive to AT&T Park rather than take Caltrain up the Peninsula since it was easier with all of the stuff I needed to bring for Dylan. We got up there early so I had time to look for parking around the park. The official …

White Sox Home Opener vs. Rays

After attending six straight Cubs games, it was time for the White Sox home opener. The game was scheduled for 1:10 pm this afternoon. Also, I am flying to San Francisco tonight as I wait at the airport. I scheduled my flight for Thursday night, so 1) I could make both the White Sox home opener and the Giants home opener on Friday afternoon and 2) that Dylan would sleep on the plane.
My planning was perfect. The only problem was how to attend the White Sox home opener and get …

Ultimate Sports Baby: Diamondbacks at Cubs

Once again, I received free tickets from my friend who is having trouble selling them for these early games at Wrigley Field. Also, the Ultimate Sports Baby came to today’s game for his second Cubs game of the season.

Arizona Diamondbacks at Chicago Cubs
The Diamondbacks avoided the sweep defeating the Cubs 6-4. Today was a miserable day for a baseball game. The temperature hovered in the 40’s and there was a slight drizzle most of the day. The Ultimate Sports Baby was completely wrapped up and he must have been happy …

I received free tickets for today’s game from a friend since tickets are selling for $1 on StubHub. For the second day in a row, the Cubs defeated the Diamondbacks on a cold day at Wrigley Field. It was Starlin Castro bobblehead day, but I never receive the promotions since I never get into the ballpark early enough. I attend so many games, I would rather spend my time at home or in one of the bars than hangout in Wrigley Field for any extra length of …

Ultimate Sports Baby’s 1st Cubs Game of 2011

It was the only scheduled Monday afternoon game of the season. So it was time for the Ultimate Sports Baby to come to Wrigley Field for the first time this season. The temperature was not much warmer than Saturday, but Nicole was working on her dissertation on campus and I was not about to miss the game. Dylan’s first baseball game of the season saw the Cubs defeat the Diamondbacks 4-1. The main highlight was the fan that ran on the field at the end of …

There is one thing I love about Chicago in the month of April – doubleheaders with the Chicago Cubs and either the Chicago Blackhawks or Chicago Bulls. Today, I planned to attend both the Cubs game this afternoon and the Blackhawks game this evening. Since, I was planning to bring the Ultimate Sports Baby to the Blackhawks game; I hired a babysitter for the Cubs game.
Pittsburgh Pirates at Chicago Cubs
It could be a long Cubs season if Carlos Marmol keeps this up. The Cubs were down 2-0 and 3-2, but …

Nicole and I decided it was too cold (46 degrees with a strong wind) for Dylan to attend the game, so once Nicole got back from teaching ice skating she took Dylan to the gym.
Beg, Borrow and Deal
I had two tickets for Sunday’s game. But rather than buy a ticket for today and sell a ticket for tomorrow, I traded for today’s ticket. I have done this in the past as well. If you have two tickets for a later date, scalpers will generally trade their tickets that will be …
