Once again I was back at AT&T Park for Tuesday night’s Giants game versus the Los Angeles Dodgers. This time my Dad was planning to attend. Also, Sean MacDonald (who runs the website sportsroadtrips.blogspot.com) was in town after arriving from Tokyo earlier today.
Parking at AT&T Park
This time I found a parking lot on Berry St. south of 5th St. that was only $20. It was definitely a long walk to AT&T Park, but worth saving $10 in my opinion. Plus, the parking lot was not that big so traffic getting …

Dodgers at World Series Champions Giants

For the first time since the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Francisco Giants moved to California, the Dodgers and Giants played a game with the Giants as World Series Champions.
My original plan for Monday night was to attend the Sacramento Kings game. The Kings are threatening to move after this season and I have not been to a Kings game since December 20, 1994. However, as the afternoon moved along, I decided I did not want to make the long two hour drive to Sacramento (which would be longer when …

StubHub Game Time Purchasing: Cardinals at Giants

It was a great day for a doubleheader. My Dad and I planned to attend both the San Francisco Giants game and Golden State Warriors game.
Parking
Parking was much easier today than it was on Friday. I have a friend who lives on Berry St. who let us park in his spot for free.
Beg, Borrow and Deal
In a turn of events, my friend told me that StubHub was now selling Giants tickets up until game time rather than cutting of sales two hours before the game as they do with Cubs …

Giants World Series Championship Ceremony

As I mentioned yesterday, I planned my flight to San Francisco in order to attend the San Francisco Giants home opener Friday afternoon. With my parents both working on Friday, the Ultimate Sports Baby was coming with me.
Driving vs. Public Transportation to AT&T Park
I decided to drive to AT&T Park rather than take Caltrain up the Peninsula since it was easier with all of the stuff I needed to bring for Dylan. We got up there early so I had time to look for parking around the park. The official …

In a rare Thursday night game at Wrigley Field the Giants slammed the Cubs 13-0 which was the 17th consecutive game the Giants have allowed three or fewer runs. The last team to achieve that feat was the 1917 Chicago White Sox who ended up with 20 consecutive games.
Juan Uribe hit two home runs in the second inning – a grand slam and a two-run home run. I am not sure how many times I have seen a player hit two home runs in the same inning but it sure …

The tides turned last night as the Cubs defeated the Giants 2-0 in another quick game. Last night’s game lasted 2:20 and tonight’s game was 2:22. Tonight’s game was the 16th straight game the Giants have allowed three or fewer runs. The last team to achieve that feat was the Oakland Athletics in 1981.
Post Game Dining
After the game, I headed to Ian’s Pizza by the Slice located at 3463 N. Clark St. Ian’s Pizza contains unique toppings for their slices. For example, their best selling slice is Mac N’ Cheese …

Tonight was the 70th Cubs game I have attended this season – by far the most I have attended for any single team in one season.  By the end of the home stand, I should have attended 75 Cubs games this season as I am not planning to miss any games.
Tonight was the fourth 1-0 game I have witnessed at Wrigley Field this season and my 17th 1-0 game overall – of course the Cubs lost to the Giants.  I am not sure why there is an increase in 1-0 …

If you are coming from the suburbs south of San Francisco to a Giants game it may make the most sense to take Caltrain to AT&T Park rather than drive. That is what I did Monday night on the way to game one of the three game series between the Dodgers and Giants.
Obtaining TicketsA main area for buying Giants tickets from scalpers is directly in front of the Caltrain station after getting off the train. I offered $10 for tickets from the scalpers but nobody would accept my …

With Nicole attending her sociology conference in San Francisco, I went to the Sunday afternoon Giants game with my Dad.
Obtaining TicketsWe needed to buy two tickets and again my goal was to find tickets for $10 each. However, I was only offering $15 for two tickets. None of the scalpers would accept my offer until one scalper got creative. He offered us two singles in the upper deck for $15. Since I had sat in the lower level Saturday afternoon and had planned to …

Something I forgot to mention in yesterday’s post is that the Giants do not always play at 1:05 pm on Saturday afternoons. They usually play at night – meaning this day would not be possible without a scheduled afternoon game.
Nicole and I drove to her conference on Saturday morning. We parked the car around 12:15 pm and I walked over to AT&T Park – about a 20 minute walk from Market St. and 6th St.
Obtaining TicketsAs with any baseball game that is not sold out, cheaper tickets can …
