A Boring Blog for a Boring Dodger-Giants Match-up

4 July 2008 3 Comments

Being in San Fran for the fourth of July weekend meant only one thing: heading to AT&T Park for the Giants/Dodgers game.

I admit to being a part-time Dodger fan when on the West Coast. Yet, today, I tried to be a team player. I was with my in-laws (long time Giants fans) and given the fact that they were treating for brunch, I was not going to push it.

Any trip to AT&T Park should, at least, involve a quick drink at MoMos. We decided to do brunch. Actually, it was more like lunch with champagne, but after a few glasses, who really cares what its called?

After brunch, we headed a half block to the stadium for one of the great rivalries in baseball. Unfortunately, it was a little more sedate than a Cubs-Cards match up. A sold out SF crowd couldn’t muster even one good heckling chant. I was so bored in the fifth inning that I had to take a walk in the concourse area just to stay awake ’til the seventh. Does anybody know what is up with Giants fans? When and where, exactly, did they lose their pulse?

I was thinking of going up to SF for the 7/4 weekend for the Dodgers vs Giants series. Had I known in advance that you guys would be up there, I might have actually done it.
