My first sporting event of the year had been planned since September. I have always wanted to attend a Bears game at Lambeau Field but for whatever reason was never able to do so. Nicole and I did not plan to travel anywhere this holiday season since it would be our first holiday season with a baby. Ever few years the Chicago Bulls play an afternoon game on New Year’s Eve. Northwestern was playing their second straight afternoon game at Welch-Ryan Arena. This time it was the men’s basketball team as they hosted Mount St. Mary’s for a 2 pm matinee.
