My first sporting event of the year had been planned since September. I have always wanted to attend a Bears game at Lambeau Field but for whatever reason was never able to do so. Nicole and I did not plan to travel anywhere this holiday season since it would be our first holiday season with a baby. But, since the Packers were hosting the Bears on January 2, we thought it would be fun to take a road trip to Green Bay for the game.

Hotel in Green Bay
Back in September, I was researching where to stay in Green Bay for the weekend. Our original plan was to have a babysitter come to our hotel room to watch Dylan while both of us attended the game. Thus, I needed a hotel right next to Lambeau Field so we could check on Dylan periodically.

I narrowed in on the Hilton Garden Inn located at 1015 Lombardi Avenue. They had a minimum two night stay and the room was $400 per night – pretty pricey for a weekend in Green Bay. However, they had free nights available at only 25,000 points per night if I used my Hilton points. Since I had enough points the decision was simple.

Dinner Saturday Night
We checked into our hotel around 4 pm on New Year’s Day. We debated where to go for dinner that night but decided on Brett Favre’s Steak House (which we could see from our hotel room) since we could walk. After eating, we planned to head back to the hotel room but Dylan feel asleep as we were walking out of the restaurant so we stopped at the bar for a couple of drinks before going to sleep for the night.
