Ultimate Sports Baby Fidgets at Blackhawks Game

After attending the Cubs game, it was time to pack up the Ultimate Sports Baby and bring him to the United Center to attend his second Chicago Blackhawks game of the season.
Beg, Borrow and Deal
I went with a friend and his son so we needed to buy three tickets. We ended up buying three upper level seats for $130 total or $43.33 each. Face value on the tickets was $40 each.

My idealized notion for this game was much different than realty. In theory, Dylan …

My friend, and FoxSoccer.com writer, Jamie Trecker wanted to attend the Blackhawks game tonight. So Nicole worked on her dissertation at home, which allowed me to attend the game.
Beg, Borrow and Deal
Once again I went directly to the box office to see what seats were available. I thought I could beat the $27 SRO price point, but that finding three seats together would be difficult. Rather than try to find seats from scalpers, I decided to buy the SRO tickets. As soon as did there were supposedly no tickets left …

After a week of spending most of her time on campus working on her dissertation, Nicole came home early so I could attend the Sunday night Blackhawks game.
Beg, Borrow and Deal
As was the case last week, I decided not to attempt the scalping market and bought a SRO ticket for $27. Once again, I did not feel I could beat the $27 price point on the secondary market and I knew I would find a seat inside the United Center since it was a Sunday night game against the Coyotes.

After work I drove to the United Center for my second hockey game of the day. Corey Crawford had his third career shutout as the Blackhawks defeated the Avalanche 4-0.
The second period ended with 2:07 left, when the glass above the boards shattered. At that point both teams headed to the locker room for the second intermission. After the intermission, the teams played the end of the second period, the goalies switched ends and the third period started. I know I have seen this before but …

Blackhawks Tickets are Cheap…Just Wait

After the Bears game I needed to buy the wife tickets for the New Year’s Eve showing of a White Christmas. Plus, Gary was getting a ride from the guy we were attending the Blackhawks game with – Bob DeVries. He asked me if I wanted a ride but I said no thanks – knowing that getting out of Soldier Field parking lots is a nightmare.
After going downtown, I took the #20 bus down Madison Ave. I got off at Loomis St. because I saw the Palace Grill – a …

With Nicole and Dylan at home, I planned to attend the Chicago Blackhawks Sunday night game. They were both sleeping at 5 pm when I left for the 6 pm start at the United Center.
Los Angeles Kings at Chicago Blackhawks
I bought a $65 ticket for $25 outside of the United Center. The Blackhawks finally played well as they defeated the Kings 3-2.

Ultimate Sports Baby attends First NHL Game

Hospitality Jim invited me to last night’s Blackhawks game. With the wife out of town and now babysitters available, the Ultimate Sports Baby had to attend his first NHL game at the United Center. I was slightly concerned since I knew I would have to put Dylan into the baby bjorn and sit in my seat with him for the entire game. Remember, I avoided this hassle when I chose to attend the DePaul Men’s Basketball game rather than the Blackhawks game on November 14.

Back in Chicago: Coyotes at Blackhawks

In a rare moment, I had to turn down an invite from Hospitality Jim to attend the Chicago Blackhawks game on October 27. First, I was not feeling well and second, we were leaving for Europe the next night and I needed to pack.
However, two days after getting back from Europe, Hospitality Jim invited me to tonight’s Blackhawks game. Since I figured I would not be invited to both games, tonight’s invite could have been a makeup invite.

Pricey Face Value: Canucks at Blackhawks

At the Bears game on Sunday, my friend Mike Holzman invited me to tonight’s Chicago Blackhawks game. He said his Dad wanted face value for the tickets which I said fine. In the past (when Mike brought me for free) the tickets had a face value of $95 or so. He also said he had passes to the Ketel One Club which is an area I have never been to before in the United Center. I have been to the bar upstairs several times (when they still sell beer in …

NHL Finals Game 1: Flyers at Blackhawks

With the Cubs game ending around 5:45 pm, I had plenty of time to drive to the United Center in time to buy a ticket for Game 1. As I write in the ticket buying guide for Championship games, I had done my research ahead of time. However, instead of buying ahead of time, I had a feeling ticket prices would drop outside of the arena so I went to the United Center empty handed. My first stop was outside of Billy Goat Tavern where most scalpers congregate for sporting …
