NHL Playoffs: Canucks at Blackhawks Game 2

4 May 2010 No Comment

It was one of the most exciting Blackhawks games I have attended this season. The Canucks scored two goals within the first five minutes of the game and it appeared Game 2 was heading in the same direction as Game 1. However, the Blackhawks reversed their fortunes and also scored a goal in the first period.

After a scoreless second period, Patrick Sharp scored a shorthanded goal to tie the game at two goals apiece with 13:11 left in the game. It appeared the game was heading into overtime until Kris Versteeg, scored the game-winning goal with 90 seconds left in the third period and the crowd went nuts.

Beg, Borrow and Deal
For the first time this playoffs, Blackhawks Jim took the Ultimate Sports Wife and me to the game. His seats are in Section 120 which is a section over from where Rocky Wirtz sits.

Pre Game Dining
Before the game, we met Blackhawks Jim and his wife at The Tasting Room located at 1415 W. Randolph St. which is just a few blocks from the United Center. The Tasting Room’s food was amazing and glasses of wine were half-price, but the service was terrible. We waited a long time for our drinks and food. You would think the restaurant would be more prepared before an event at the United Center.
