Tonight the Cubs are back in town versus the Brewers.
But, just cause the blogging has been slow, doesn’t mean there hasn’t been planning in the works. This weekend, we are off to visit family near Laredo, Texas. So, there has been scoping and planning for a game either in the US or even cross the border in Mexico. No luck in Mexico. I thought there may be some second grade futbol team. Instead, we may schedule a b-grade baseball game in …

You can always tell the true Cubs fans from the rookies who come for their one game per season.
Neighborhood Cubs fans have the latest Cubs gear on rather than the generic stuff hawked on the corner of Addison and Sheffield…you know, the shiny MLB wear that you can buy at the Sears.
Well, while the Cubs are away, losing two in a row might I add, I thought I would catch up with a few neighborhood tips.
The best Fan Fashion in the neighborhood is …

Let me be clear in saying that this blog may have a Cubs slant, but it is more focused on sports fandemonium, in general. So, I was deeply conflicted on whether to post this at all.
One of my loyal readers, who I will call “British Bob,” sent me this video with the intention of making my blood boil. The video is Red’s announcer, Marty Brennaman, ripping on Chicago Cubs Fans with an intense amount of disdain.
I recently wrote about my equation for loyalty and hatred …

What do you do when a hour and a half of rush hour traffic stands between you and the Cubs game? You get creative and perhaps a bit desperate.
The Ultimate Sports Fan found himself stuck at work, way out in the North suburbs with little chance to get to Wrigleyville in time for the 6pm night game. Many sports fans might just give up. Instead, the Ultimate Sports Fan hightailed it North…to Miller Park. Now, many people might not think to head North if the …

On a Sunday Cubs morning, Saturday-night slumber is broken by helicopters and airplanes swarming outside our place. Some of these choppers are advertising planes. “RedBull GIVES you WINGS.” Some are television choppers.
But, the oddest thing is being woken up by a small air fleet on game days. This is a spring and summer ritual.
Since we are awake, we are headed to brunch at one of the best (and most Sunday-civil) brunch places in the neighborhood.
Uncommon Ground for Sunday Brunch
We will then go to …

This is a great time of year. The Cubs games may be cold, but you can do a double header across two different sports.
Today I will take in a Cubs game at 1:30pm with plenty of time to finish the game, nap, and then, drive to the United Center for the Black Hawks game. Plenty of time to rest, relax and change hats.
After the Hawks game, we will go to our preferred United Center post-game spot:
Beer Bistro Restaurant and Bar
It will be a …

You may wonder if the chance to watch baseball at the Coliseum was worth the trip all the way to LA.
Well, the shear enormity of the event- in size rather than signifcance- was worth it. There was a carnival-like atmosphere around the stadium with tailgating starting at 8am and continuing through out the game. At this time, we were still in Chicago but getting ready to take the trip.
By the time we landed in LA (5pm) and got to the game (6pm), the level of …

Ok, I just love this chant…but I have to admit…If I had to pick a second team to love, it would probably be the Dodgers. I did live in LA long enough to gain some sentiment for them.
Now, if Andrew has anything to say…I will have to talk to him about Andrew’s bi-Sox-ual tendencies towards the White Sox.
Traitor in the Midst
Well, this site might be a bit heavy on the Chicago sports but remember…Have Game? Will Travel. We are on route to the Dodgers …
