Pujols Hits Three Home Runs: Cardinals at Cubs

30 May 2010 No Comment

Albert Pujols connected for three home runs in today’s Cubs game at Wrigley Field as he led the Cardinals to a 9-1 win over the Cubs. It was the fourth time he has hit three homers in a game and the first time since September 3, 2006. Pujols became only the 14th players since 1900 with at-least four three-home run games. This was only the sixth time I have witnessed a player hit three home runs in the same game. The other five being:

1) June 23, 1997: Steve Finley – San Diego at San Francisco
2) June 15, 1998: Sammy Sosa – Chicago (NL) vs. Milwaukee
3) August 9, 2001: Sammy Sosa – Chicago (NL) vs. Colorado
4) July 4, 2003: Moises Alou – Chicago (NL) vs. St. Louis
5) July 7, 2009: Paul Konerko – Chicago (AL) vs. Cleveland

Beg, Borrow and Deal
Before the game I easily bought a $40.32 face value ticket for $15. I offered $10 but agreed on $15.
