Tonight game was just one of those nights. The wife and I did not have any plans and my first child is due soon so I decided to spend a free Friday night at U.S. Cellular Field. I probably will not be getting to the Southside much more this season.

Beg, Borrow and Deal
I bought a premium lower level box seat (season ticket face value is $44, day of game face value is $58) for $10 as soon as I got off the train.

What I do not understand is why the White Sox feel every weekend game (except for April) is a Prime or Premier game. The cheapest seat for tonight’s game was $24 (the White Sox label it as a “Prime” game) at the box office. That is way too much for a Friday night game versus the Toronto Blue Jays and the reason why you should never buy tickets from the White Sox directly. Always buy your tickets from scalpers outside of U.S. Cellular Field and you will save a lot of money.

In the longest game I have attended this season, the Blue Jays defeated the White Sox 7-4 in 12 innings. Alex Gonzalez hit the tie-breaking home run in the top of the 12th.

I was getting ready to leave in the 9th inning after John Buck gave the Blue Jays a 4-3 lead. But, in the bottom of the 9th A.J. Pierzynski hit the first pitch over the right field wall to send the game into extra innings.

With the game going to extra innings I went to the Bullpen Sports Bar in the right field corner – the only place in U.S. Cellular Field to sell alcohol after the seventh inning and a great place to hang out during the game.
