Jarrett Payton at Tailgate: Seahawks at Bears

17 October 2010 No Comment

In a rare occurrence, my friend Mike Holzman had his south lot parking pass. So the Ultimate Sports Wife and I hired a babysitter and Nicole planned her own tailgate feast. On the menu was gorgonzola stuffed burgers, artichoke dip and stuffed mushrooms. On a food-only level, it definitely competes with Tailgate Rob’s menu, but our tailgate looks a lot worse than his does. Our main issue was the lack of a table and only having a small grill. To give you an example of the sad state of our tailgate, Mike brought two propane tanks in case one was empty, but in fact BOTH were empty – a major rookie mistake. Good thing our neighbors (the car next to us) brought more than one full tank.

However, both the food and a visit by Jarrett Payton made up for our lack of tailgate preparation!

The Bears looked terrible in a 23-20 loss to the Seahawks. The only bright spot for the Bears was Devin Hester’s second punt return for a touchdown this season. His 89 yard return tied Brian Mitchell’s NFL record with 13 kick returns for a touchdown.
