NFL Game Day is “slightly” different when traveling with a baby. We woke up early and had to take care of Dylan rather than sleeping in and going directly to the bars before the game.

Pre Game Dining
Since we were up early we decided to drive around Green Bay to check out “the sites.” Of course, there really weren’t any, so we stopped at Titletown Brewing Company located at 200 Dousman St. Our hotel’s magazine listed this place as one of the top places to eat at in Green Bay.

Beg, Borrow and Deal
I made a rookie mistake buying my ticket today. Ticket prices on StubHub have been high for this game for awhile. So, as usual, I waited until the day of game outside of the stadium to buy my ticket. I was walking out of the hotel parking lot, I found a guy who had an extra single and wanted $125 for the ticket. I tried to buy it for under $100 but eventually agreed on $115. My rookie mistake was buying from the first guy just because he was much cheaper than what was on StubHub and craigslist.

I walked down Lombardi Ave. since I now had some time and discovered that most scalpers were starting negotiations at $100 each for tickets! Meaning I would probably have bought a ticket for much less than I did. Oh well, as I always say even being a bad negotiator outside of the stadium will still save you money from buying ahead of time which is what I did today.

Pre Game Nap
Rather than going to any of the bars around my hotel, I chose to go back to the hotel room and take a nap before the game. At 2:45 pm I got up and walked to Lambeau Field for the 3:15 pm kickoff.

Chicago Bears at Green Bay Packers
This was the third straight Bears road game I have attended. Originally this was supposed to be the only Bears road game I would attend. But taking an unscheduled road trip to Detroit the first weekend of December and flying to Minneapolis when the Vikings game was moved to TCF Bank Stadium, I had now attended all of the Bears NFC North road matchups.

The Bears had nothing to play for since they had already wrapped up a playoff bye and the #2 seed in the NFC. However, by defeating the Packers, the Packers would miss the playoffs. That’s incentive enough for the Bears to play their starters as they did.

But, Jay Cutler and the offense could not get into the end zone which led to the Packers defeating the Bears 10-3. The Packers are now the #6 seed in the NFC Conference.

Post Game Dining
After the game I went back to the hotel and relaxed in the room while Dylan slept. During halftime of the game, I was talking with some locals and they said after eating at Brett Favre’s Steak House and Titletown Brewing Company, the next place on the list was Prime Quarter Steak House located at 2610 S. Oneida St. – about two miles from our hotel. This place was definitely unique as you pick out a piece of steak from their refrigerator and grill the meat yourself. Or, you can pay $2 to have their chef grill it for you. Since, we had enough work to feed and entertain Dylan during dinner we went the “chef-grills-it-for-us” route. The restaurant was surprisingly fun and the food good but is still the third choice depending on how many meals you have in Green Bay.
