Under normal circumstances I would usually attend a corporate outing (free drinks and food) over a Chicago Cubs baseball game – especially when the corporate outing is in the suburbs. However, this season I am attempting a rare feat of attending at least 70 Chicago Cubs home games, so with the party starting at 5 pm, I knew I could attend the first hour and still make it in time for the game. Plus, who actually wants to hang out with their co-workers very long anyway.

Beg, Borrow and Deal
I gave away my tickets to a friend thinking I would be attending the party, but with my change of plans I now had to buy tickets. We bought two tickets for $20 each (face value was $40.32 each). Not my best work, but I wanted to get into the game so we were not too late.

Milwaukee Brewers at Chicago Cubs
This game was much better than last night’s but the Cubs still lost 4-3. Thomas Diamond became only the second pitcher in Cubs history to strike out 10 in the major league debut. The last was Mark Prior who achieved the feat in 2002 – a game I was also attended.

Post Game Dining
Somehow I ended back at Mullen’s after the game – probably because my friend from college is the manager.
