Break from Hospital: Iowa at Northwestern

18 February 2011 No Comment

The Ultimate Sports Baby was really sick when I got back from the Blackhawks game Wednesday night. Earlier Thursday morning the Ultimate Sports Baby was admitted to Children’s Memorial Hospital for a respiratory virus. But, the doctor’s said he just needed time to get healthy so there was not much to worry about.

Nicole and I agreed it did not make any sense for both of us to sit around the hospital for 48 hours. Nicole left Thursday afternoon to run some errands. When she got back, I went to the Northwestern game.

Beg, Borrow and Deal
Usually I would choose to attend the Chicago Bulls game against the San Antonio Spurs on a Thursday night. But, my friend gave me tickets to the Iowa at Northwestern game so, of course, I chose to attend that game instead. And, since I already had the tickets and invited a friend, I was actually able to go. Otherwise I would have stuck around the hospital.

Iowa at Northwestern
Northwestern took a 13-point lead in the first half and only lost the lead late in the first half and early in the second half. Luke Mirkovic hit a three-pointer with 1:51 left in the game to give Northwestern a 6-point lead. The Wildcats held onto the 73-70 win.

After the game I drove straight back to the hospital, so Nicole could get a good night sleep at home while I slept at the hospital.
