Billy Williams Statue: Astros at Cubs

8 September 2010 No Comment

Last night the Cubs unveiled the new Billy Williams statue which now sits where Harry Carey’s statue used to be – on the corner of Sheffield and Addison. Harry Carey’s statue was moved behind the bleachers on the corner of Sheffield and Waveland.

The Cubs lost to the Astros 7-3 as the only thing to root for during the game was whether Astros’ Michael Bourn would hit for the cycle – which he did not. He started the game with a triple, double and single but ended the game with a sacrifice fly and strikeout.
