A Poop & a Nap is Better than the Last Cubs Home Game

26 September 2010 No Comment

It was the last home game for the 2010 Chicago Cubs. My plan was to bring the Ultimate Sports Baby to his 27th Cubs game of the season and his 29th MLB game overall, but, of course, kids have other ideas.

Pre Game Dining
My cousin was in from New York City and wanted to watch the part of the Cowboys game before heading over to Wrigley Field. The nearest Cowboys bar to watch the game was Houndstooth Saloon – located at 3369 N. Clark St. (on the corner of Roscoe St.). I met him over there with the Ultimate Sports Baby around noon. However, Dylan had other plans as he had a “major” incident. It was so bad I decided that walking him back home to change him made more sense than changing him in the bar’s bathroom.

Pre Game Changing
I brought Dylan back to the house, changed him, and gave him a bath. At that point I could tell he was tired so put him down for a nap. He went right to sleep and with the wife still at home, I headed back to Houndstooth Saloon. When I got back, an hour had passed, so my cousin and I watched some more of the Cowboys game and headed over to Wrigley Field – baby free.

St. Louis Cardinals at Chicago Cubs
Albert Pujols hit his 42nd home run of the season which ended up bouncing up Kenmore Ave. as the Cardinals beat the Cubs 8-7. The Cubs were down 8-0 after the top of the 5th and scored seven runs in the 5th, 6th and 7th to try and make a comeback.

Post Game Dining
After the game we went to the Dugout Bar & Grill because my cousin wanted to play beer pong (this is the only bar in Wrigleyville that I know of that has beer pong).
