Last season, I scheduled a few doctor\u2019s appointments to coincide when the Cubs or White Sox were playing on a weekday afternoon. Today was no different as I had a scheduled dental procedure that would keep me home all day. The good thing was that my dental appointment was early in the morning \u2013 meaning I could come home, take a nap to recover and still make it to the Cubs game which started at 1:20 pm.<\/p>\n

However, of course, since I was in so much pain the game lasted 12 innings \u2013 matching the longest game I have attended this season. The Blue Jays and White Sox played 12 innings on May 7.<\/p>\n

\nIt was a good thing the Astros scored three runs in the top of the 12th inning so they could hold onto the victory. The Cubs attempted a comeback of their own in the bottom of the 12th inning as they scored two runs of their own after leaving men on base in the 8th, 9th, 10th and 11th innings for a total of 16 LOBs for the game.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
