Last night, I planned on going to the Cubs v. Braves game in our ordinary season ticket seats in the upper-deck, but, I got a fateful call. “Do you have parking during the game? No biggie either way but we will pay you.” It was the wife of a former Cubs employee. Now, this former-Cubs employee is a jewel of a friend. He has often given us prime tickets and we are never bored of his tales as a Cubs intern and marketing executive- working the retro scoreboard (younger days) and the media relations after Harry Caray’s passing. <\/div>\n

Last night, he traded a parking spot behind our house for a $66 ticket near home plate. (Section 114 to be exact). I had a prime view of a poor fan (rows in front of me) getting pelted in the head by a Fukudome fly ball as well as the unfortunate injury of Soriano. That’s a lot of excitement for one night- not to mention the fact that my location in the seventh inning stretch put me in a prime, TV-time location for getting on WGN. The Cubs won 7-2 and clearly, the informal economy in Wrigleyville had me on-top!<\/div>\n
