Joyce Center Moose Krause Circle, South Bend, IN

Stadium Review
History
The Joyce Center opened in 1968. The Joyce Center is actually a larger sports complex containing the Purcell Pavilion (where the Notre Dame men’s and women’s basketball teams play) in the southern part of the building and the hockey rink (for Notre Dame hockey) in the northern part of the building.

The building seats 9,800 for basketball and 2,857 for hockey. The venue hosted the men’s NCAA Tournament in 1971, 1976, 1985 and 1988. More recently the Joyce Center has hosted the women’s NCAA Tournament including this year 2010.

Directions
The Joyce Center is located north of downtown South Bend. If you are driving from downtown take Michigan St. north and turn right onto Angela Blvd. Traffic will lead you to the arena.

If you are coming from the Indiana East-West Toll Road take exit 77 toward IN-933/US-31. Turn right on Dixie Way, then left on Douglas Rd., then right on Wilson Dr. Follow traffic to the Joyce Center.

Parking
There is plenty of parking surrounding the arena and Notre Dame Stadium for a men’s or women’s basketball game. Parking is also complimentary so pull into the parking lot before looking for a lot further away.

Location of Ticket Scalpers
If there are ticket scalpers, they will be around the arena for men’s basketball games. For women’s basketball games you will need to find extra tickets from individual fans or buy tickets directly from the arena box office.
