Easter Sunday: St. Louis Blues at Chicago Blackhawks by Ultimate Sports Fan, Andrew

It’s not every year you attend a sporting event on Easter Sunday. The last game I attended on Easter was March 30, 1997. I was in Indianapolis (the Sunday between Final Four games) watching the Pacers host the LA Clippers.

This Sunday my cousins Maureen and Jim Cook invited us to the Chicago Blackhawks game. The game tied a personal record of regular season games attended for one team in one season. I attended 11 Sharks during the 1993-94 season. This was my 11th Blackhawks game this season.

Before the game, the Ultimate Sports Wife and I met them at Third Rail Tavern which is 6-7 blocks from the United Center on Madison Ave. This is a second choice place to The Beer Bistro which was closed yesterday.

After the game, we ate dinner at Dine Restaurant in the Crowne Plaza Hotel. Given the fact it was Easter and most restaurants were already closed, Dine was not a bad choice for an after game dinner. But with Greektown so close, a trip to Athenas is probably your best bet. By the way, Dine and Greektown has free valet so don’t be tricked by pulling into a pay lot.
