Super Classico: First Smoke Bomb Delay by Ultimate Sports Fan, Andrew

I received a free ticket to the Super Classico (LA Galaxy vs. Chivas USA) at the Home Depot Center tonight - thanks to Brian Perez. So the ultimate sports wife and I will scalp a second ticket outside the stadium and try to sit together.

We went to the Super Classico with one great ticket in hand. It was three rows back from the field but far enough away from the fan section to be safe from beer spills and excessive drumming. I bought an extra ticket for the wife outside the stadium. The deal was simple. The scalper asked for $10 (for an $18 ticket) and I paid it. With one solid ticket, you can get access to the premium seats but the other ticket is merely to gain access into the stadium.

The match was 3-0 Chivas and the fans went crazy in the second half. A gigantic flag went over five sections of fans (very European) and quite a few folks had the “brilliant” idea to light smoke bombs while the flag was on top of the crowd. When the flag was pulled back, a huge smoke cloud went into the air and onto the field. Not to mention the smoke bombs thrown at the Galaxy goalie. Who knew our first “smoke bomb” delay of game would be in the US?
