StubHub Game Time Purchasing: Cardinals at Giants

It was a great day for a doubleheader. My Dad and I planned to attend both the San Francisco Giants game and Golden State Warriors game.
Parking
Parking was much easier today than it was on Friday. I have a friend who lives on Berry St. who let us park in his spot for free.
Beg, Borrow and Deal
In a turn of events, my friend told me that StubHub was now selling Giants tickets up until game time rather than cutting of sales two hours before the game as they do with Cubs …

Giants World Series Championship Ceremony

As I mentioned yesterday, I planned my flight to San Francisco in order to attend the San Francisco Giants home opener Friday afternoon. With my parents both working on Friday, the Ultimate Sports Baby was coming with me.
Driving vs. Public Transportation to AT&T Park
I decided to drive to AT&T Park rather than take Caltrain up the Peninsula since it was easier with all of the stuff I needed to bring for Dylan. We got up there early so I had time to look for parking around the park. The official …

It was the last home game for the 2010 Chicago Cubs. My plan was to bring the Ultimate Sports Baby to his 27th Cubs game of the season and his 29th MLB game overall, but, of course, kids have other ideas.
Pre Game Dining
My cousin was in from New York City and wanted to watch the part of the Cowboys game before heading over to Wrigley Field. The nearest Cowboys bar to watch the game was Houndstooth Saloon – located at 3369 N. Clark St. (on the corner of Roscoe St.). …

I had a choice of which game to attend today. Northwestern was hosting Central Michigan at 11 am at Ryan Field. The Cubs had a 12:05 pm start. Since the wife was teaching skating as usual I chose to attend the Cubs game for two main reasons. First, I was bringing the Ultimaet Sports Baby with me to either game. Second, Wrigley Field is much easier for me living so close. Thus, Dylan went to his 26th Cubs game of the season.

Final 2010 Family Day at Wrigley Field: Cardinals at Cubs

It was the last game of the 2010 season that the Ultimate Sports Wife, Ultimate Sports Baby and I would be attending together. It was the 26th Cubs game the Ultimate Sports Baby has attended. We sat in the last section of the upper box down the left field line – a perfect spot if you are bringing a baby. First, you can take the elevator (located down the left field line) to the upper deck. Second, it is a short walk from the elevator to the upper deck box. …

For the second week in a row Sunday night baseball was held at Wrigley Field – two Sunday night baseball games at the same location in back-to-back weeks is definitely rare. The St. Louis Cardinals were looking to avoid being swept by the Chicago Cubs and managed to comeback from a 3-2 deficit to defeat the Cubs 4-3 in 11 innings.
A kid sitting next to us held up a sign throughout the entire game that read:
It’s A Plane
It’s Superman
No It’s Marlon Byrd
At first I thought there was no way this …

For the third time this season, I met up with a fellow sports roadtripper (someone who travels to attend sporting events) – Sean MacDonald who runs the website sportsroadtrips.blogspot.com. Sean lives in Tokyo and was on a two week trip touring the Midwest. His itinerary can be found here.
Pre Game Dining
I already had tickets for us so we decided to grab a beer at one of my favorite Wrigleyville dive bars. Wrigleyville North is located on the corner of Sheffield Ave and Byron Rd. The place was empty before the …

Albert Pujols connected for three home runs in today’s Cubs game at Wrigley Field as he led the Cardinals to a 9-1 win over the Cubs. It was the fourth time he has hit three homers in a game and the first time since September 3, 2006. Pujols became only the 14th players since 1900 with at-least four three-home run games. This was only the sixth time I have witnessed a player hit three home runs in the same game. The other five being:
1) June 23, 1997: Steve Finley – …

It was a big day for sporting events in Chicago. First, the Chicago Cubs were hosting the St. Louis Cardinals at Wrigley Field at 3:10 pm. Second, the Chicago Blackhawks were hosting the Philadelphia Flyers in the first NHL Finals game in Chicago in 18 years. With the NHL Finals game starting at 7:00 pm there was very little wiggle room for the Cubs game to run long.
Beg, Borrow and Deal
As was the case Friday, I was shocked at how little Cubs tickets were selling for outside of Wrigley Field …

Cubs Tickets are Dead: Cardinals at Cubs

Cubs’ tickets are officially dead for the summer. My neighbor and I bought a pair of Cubs tickets for $30 ($15 each) without leaving our courtyard. The face value on each ticket was $70.56. Buying a ticket for so cheap to watch the Cardinals and Cubs at Wrigley Field rarely occurs, but is the main reason why I always recommend waiting to buy tickets until you arrive to the venue on game day.
